This 1948 Topps Magic #14 Lou Gehrig Card presents with a deeper, "more processed" appearance. 1948 Magic cards, measuring approximately 7/8" x 1-1/2", are part of the earliest trading card production for Topps, and represents their very first issue of baseball cards. The unique photo processing of these cards, similar to that of a Polaroid image, causes much variation in the coloring and appearance of every card in this set. Topps divided this set of cards into detailed categories, and this Lou Gehrig card, considered one of the anchor cards of the entire 252 card set, is classified in the "Baseball Hall of Fame" category. Next to the Babe Ruth, the Gehrig is the most desirable card to have in this series of 19 baseball cards.
