This is a very difficult unopened box to find! A high-quality unopened box from a great year. This box was preserved in one collection for 45 years! The packs are in mint condition! The design of the 1971-72 card by Topps was very appropriate for the era. It is also the first Topps issue to include pasteboards from the American Basketball Association (ABA). Cards number 145 through 233 are devoted to the ABA league. The cards in this set were reportedly printed on two sheets. The 89 ABA league cards (#145 to 233) were featured on the second sheet, along with 31 NBA cards that were also on the first sheet. The most notable card to appear on both sheets is card #55 - Pistol Pete Maravich. This was Topps largest set of basketball cards to date with 233 cards. After releasing tall boy issue cards in both 1969-70 and 1970-71, Topps came back to standard-sized cards for this 1971-72 edition.
