Nice lot of autographs from 7 obscure baseball players who played in the early 1900s (signatures on index cards with notes/stickers). Includes (4) A's (Joel "Joe" Powers Sherman, "Les" McCrabb, Bennett Harold Rochefort, Charles "Gibby" Gibson), (2) Pirates (Oilver "Happy" McArthur, George "Red" Peery), and one Phillies player (Waldo "Rusty" Yarnell). Joel Powers Sherman (1890–1987) was a Major League Baseball pitcher for the 1915 Philadelphia Athletics, who were one of the worst teams in major league history. Sherman appeared in two games at the end of the season, completing his only start. Gibson reached the Majors in 1939 with the Athletics, spending four consecutive years for them. In his only full season, McCrabb went 9–13 for the last-place 1941 A's. After an eight-year absence, including spending 1942–1947 in the minors, McCrabb returned with the club in 1950 for his last Major League appearance, then served the Athletics as a full-time coach from 1951–1954. Bennett Harold Rochefort (1896–1981) was an American Major League Baseball first baseman who played for the Philadelphia Athletics during the 1914 season, after playing college ball at Temple University. After a major league career that consisted of one inning pitched for the 1926 Philadelphia Phillies, Rusty Yarnall embarked on a 45-year career as a teacher, athletic coach, and administrator at Lowell Textile Institute, now part of the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In 1914, a 22 year old Dixie McArthur pitched one inning for the Pirates (his only inning in major league baseball). George Allan "Red" Peery was a professional baseball pitcher. He played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball, 1927 for the Pittsburgh Pirates and 1929 for the Boston Braves. (7) very rare and obscure baseball autographs!!!
