Nice lot of autographs from 6 obscure baseball players who played in the early 1900s (signatures on index cards with notes/stickers). Includes (3) White Sox (George Blackerby, John Clifford, Bibb "Jockey" Falk), (1) Tiger (John Whitlow Wyatt), (1) Indian (Walter Shaner) and (1) NY Giant (Horace "Pip" Koehler). George Franklin Blackerby (November 18, 1903 – March 30, 1987) was a professional baseball player. He was an outfielder for one season (1928) with the Chicago White Sox( he compiled a .253 batting average in 83 at-bats, with 12 runs batted in). Bibb August Falk (January 27, 1899 – June 8, 1989) was an American left fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Chicago White Sox (1920–28) and Cleveland Indians (1929–31). Falk was a spare outfielder with the Sox until news of the 1919 Black Sox scandal broke and eight players were suspended; Falk replaced Shoeless Joe Jackson in left field. Falk was a consistent hitter, ending his career after twelve seasons with a .314 career batting average, while his best season was in 1926 with the White Sox; he had a .345 batting average, 43 doubles, and 108 runs batted in, and finished 12th in MVP voting that year. After Major League coaching stints with the Indians (1933) and Boston Red Sox (1934), Falk coached baseball at the University of Texas from 1940 to 1942, then again from 1946 to 1967, winning consecutive College World Series titles in 1949 and 1950. Walter Dedaker Shaner (May 24, 1900 – November 13, 1992) spent 13 years in baseball (1920–1932), including parts of four major league seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1923), Boston Red Sox (1926–1927) and Cincinnati Reds (1929). Shaner's most productive season came in 1927 for the Red Sox, when he had a .273 batting average in a career-high 122 games. Happenny was an infielder who played one season (1923) for the White Sox. John Whitlow "Whit" Wyatt (September 27, 1907 – July 16, 1999) played all or part of sixteen seasons in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers (1929–33), Chicago White Sox (1933–36), Cleveland Indians (1937), Brooklyn Dodgers (1939–44), and Philadelphia Phillies (1945), and he is most famous for his performance in 1941, when his team (the Dodgers) won the National League pennant. Horace Levering "Pip" Koehler (January 16, 1902 in Gilbert, Pennsylvania – December 8, 1986 in Tacoma, Washington) played only one season (1925) with the New York Giants. He was a small athlete at 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m), 165 pounds, who threw and batted right-handed. Koehler attended Penn State University and ended up appearing in only 12 games and collecting 2 at-bats. He struck out once and scored one run, but didn't collect a single hit. Six very rare and obscure baseball autographs!!!
