Lot of (60) 1938 Gum R69 Horrors of War Cards & (11) 1941 War Gum Cards. As of its release in 1938, The Horrors of War cards became an instant success, making it the premiere non-sports cards to collect even today. Subject matter was world-wide in its scope, pre-empting WWII, and included Japan, China, Russia, Germany, Spain, England, and the US. The colorful artwork, and in some cases, horrific detail, exemplify the events leading up to WWII. The (11) War Gum cards in this lot are in some ways a continuation of the Horrors of War cards, featuring details of Pearl Harbor and WWII. There are (6) The World in Arms R173 cards included in this lot as well.
