Original 1978 New York Yankees Official World Series Championship Ring From the Collection of former Yankees executive Marshall Samuel. This size 9-1/2 ring is still within the original Balfour box, as presented to Marsh Samuel by the Yankees, and shows very minimal wear! This ring is the official 1978 New York Yankees Championship Ring and is made with 14-karat yellow gold. The ring is stamped "LGB 14k" and "Greatest Comeback in History" on the inside of the ring. The ring contains (1) = 0.49cts (approximately 5.40 x 5.41 x 2.74 mm) round diamond of 11 clarity and 1 color that is set on the top center of the ring into a square shaped plate and mounted into a blue resin cabochon stone. The center cabochon stone is surrounded by (21) = 0.42ctw (approx. 0.02cts each, 1,7mm diameter) round diamonds of 11 clarity and I-J color that are burnish set into the inner ring wall surrounding the blue center stone. The outer portion of the ring reads "World Champions", in which each letter is cut out of the gold. The left shank provides a Yankees team logo, with imagery of Yankee stadium facade and the World Series trophy. The right shank includes the honoree by surname ("Samuel") with the classic "NY" logo and the words "Pride, Tradition". An amazing piece of New York Yankees history that comes directly from the collection of Marsh Samuel!
